Membership
There are currently 86 members of the Fellowship; all told, there have been 186 members at different times.
Our latest additions and the first new members of 2026 are : -
no. 183 - Stephen Darlow, no 184 - Michael Darlow
no 185 - Sarah Booth and no 186 - Nick Ibberson
For the first time the Fellowship has a father, Steve, and son, Michael, as members and with Sarah joining we now have a family of three with Sarah joining her parents, Fellows Chris and Julia Booth.
The attached document lists all current members together with a list of everyone who has ever been a member (subject to updates and further information being provided) and their date of admission.
New nominations are made by existing Fellows to the Fellowship Chair and should include the nominees postal address, where possible.
Nominations are embargoed. (nominees should not informed of their nomination) If a nomination is approved by the Committee, the nominee will receive an official invitation, from the Chair, outlining the reason for the offer, the purpose of the Fellowship, the current situation, and our ambitions for the future.
The process is simple; just email our Chair or Secretary, or use the "Contact Us" page, giving a brief indication as to how the nominee meets the criteria: -
• Outstanding service to basketball going beyond just a role as a player, coach, official, administrator or in the media.
• Nominees are likely to have contributed to the development of the sport, not only at club / local level, but also at a regional or national level through their work as a Tutor, Mentor, and / or Administrator etc.
• We are looking for nominees who are willing to contribute to the life of the Fellowship, at the very least by attending AGM's, acting as an ambassador for the sport and promoting the work of the Fellowship around the Heritage Collection and Archive.
All male members of the Fellowship were originally issued with a tie.
In recent years a pin badge has been introduced to be worn by all members. Fellows are encouraged to wear these as often as possible at basketball events as a way of raising the profile of the organisation.

The 100 Club
Since the 2025 AGM we have sold a number of additional stakes in the 100 club so that at the last count we had 91 numbers accounted for. That means that we currently have just 9 stakes available for members to purchase.
Each month a £50 prize is on offer with any profits being invested in basketball development through bursaries, donations, and grants.
When we do not have a full complement of stakeholders there is less profit, reducing the amount to invest back into the Fellowship, our AGM and future development projects.
It would be tremendous to increase the overall number of stakeholders to ensure that we actually reach the magic 100!
Each stake costs only £1 per month.
An annual payment of £12 per stake is best paid by standing order.
The 100 Club management is the responsibility of our Treasurer, Phil Ireson so you just need to contact Phil to let him know that you are joining, make payment and agree the allocation of your number(s).
Recent winners:
March 2026: no. 4 Martin Spencer
April 2026: no. 35 Richard Stokes
May 2026: no. 37 Geoff Gearing
The draws for June and July 2026 will take place at the AGM.
